The Coastal Capitans retreat is located in beautiful Santa Barbara, CA. El Capitán State Beach offers visitors a sandy beach, rocky tide pools, and stands of sycamore and oak along El Capitán Creek. Located right on the ocean, this program offers tent camping, ocean kayaking, a ropes course, and outdoor leadership activities.
Students will sleep in tents and learn to cook meals with our outdoor chef. Positive Adventures programming not only takes advantage of the camp’s natural surroundings but also has strong elements of leadership and team building built into the curriculum.
Accommodations
Students and chaperones will be sleeping in tents at an established campground at El Capitan State Beach.
Food
Food and snacks throughout the day will be provided by a Positive Adventures Outdoor Chef. Our meals are healthy, locally and organically inspired, and food allergies are taken into account.
