At Positive Adventures, we strive to be a leading organization in the Outdoor Education industry. This means that risk management is always the most important component of every program we run. 

There are hundreds of moving parts when working with school groups of 50-200 students. Partnering with an organization that goes above and beyond to create a safe experience for your students and chaperones should be your biggest priority. 

Here are just a few things Positive Adventures does that every organization should implement:

  1. External audit of our Policies and Procedures for all adventure activities. This includes an annual review of our 150-page policy and procedure manual from an outside agency. 

  2. Extensive emergency and crisis response plan so that we are prepared to respond to any circumstance that might arise.

  3. Seasonal and annual risk management meeting to review every incident and near miss that occurred in the field. Immediate changes are made based on findings and patterns.

  4. Extensive evaluation of all participant medical conditions to ensure that we manage students’ needs to the best of our ability.

  5. Investment in staff training and development to ensure that our staff in the field return and gain certifications as part of their employment experience.
