Staff development is one of the great pillars of a strong campus culture. Equipping your staff with the right tools will go a long way in providing your students with what they need. Positive Adventures provides on-campus and off-campus staff trainings year-round.

Increasing pressure for students to succeed academically raises our educators to a higher standard. Working collaboratively to cultivate a caring and trusting atmosphere is imperative to the success of your students. Professional development programming with Positive Adventures enriches peer relationships by practicing thoughtful and effective communication, conflict resolution, and a mastery of interpersonal dynamics.

Identifying Goals for Staff Development

The first step in creating an effective program is to get to know you, your staff, past or current issues, and short and long term goals. What kind of culture have you helped to foster on your campus? What are your school values… and are they making the cut? How does your staff show exceptional leadership – with students, parents, and other faculty members? How can we build on this to create a safe, supportive, stimulating environment for students to thrive?

Once you’ve filled out a Client Needs Assessment, we dive a little deeper over a phone call or in-person meeting to set specific, customized goals for your experience.

Depending on time, budget, and goals, our team can design a professional development program for teachers at any number of our incredible locations. Not from California? Not to worry. There are more than 800 miles of hiking trails for visitors, from all over the world, of every ability and inclination. We are truly fortunate to have this geological masterpiece just 4.5 hours from LA.

Many excellent camping areas are nestled in the San Jacinto Mountains at an elevation of 5, 200 ft. just east of Hemet, California. There are options for tent camping, cabin stays and even a beautiful conference center. This area has a diverse ecosystem that allows the teaching of many eco-concepts such as adaptation and interrelatedness that lends itself to natural history interpretation.

The landscape of the Jennie Lakes Wilderness area is located near Sequoia & Kings Canyon National Park at the crest of the Sierra Nevada and testifies to nature’s size, beauty, and diversity.
